Volunteer Guardianship One on One Inc.

We are a small grassroots organization founded in 1996 in Hunterdon County to meet a critical need. Our pioneering community based approach utilizes one caring and compassionate volunteer to help another within the same community. We are the only organization of its kind in New Jersey and are slowly growing into other areas, including Monmouth County.

Our mission is to provide compassionate one on one guardianship services to legally incapacitated adults through the education, oversight and support of dedicated volunteers. We serve people that have no one else to act in the critical role of guardian. The agency provides support and oversight to volunteer guardians. Guardianship involves making housing, medical, financial, and other critical decisions on behalf of someone else who is unable to fully do so. The value of self-determination is paramount and every effort is made by our volunteer guardians to understand the values and opinions of the person they serve so they can truly be a substitute voice.
