Our Mission:Our mission is to empower the community and strengthen youth and families by promoting self-sufficiency through education, advocacy, and collaboration.
What We Do
Community Affairs and Resource Center (CARC) staff provides services including, but are not limited to, providing clients with: advocacy, multi services case management, information and referrals, domestic violence and protective services, interpretation and translation services, assistance with insurance and legal documents, income tax preparation and ITIN number solicitation, career assessment and employment services, facilitating health insurance, energy assistance and SNAP applications, affidavit support and NJ Notary Public service. In additional, CARC regularly conducts workshops to educate the community on topics such as health issues/concerns, life skills, financial literacy, landlord/tenant rights, legal and immigration issues. Services are provided primarily to low-income families and the working poor in an effort to improve the quality of life for this ever growing population with the goal of revitalizing the communities served. . Although CARC serves all people regardless of age, race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, familial status, sex, sexual orientation or functional capacity, the majority of CARC's client base is Hispanic and Haitian. CARC is one of the few service providers in Monmouth County that can effectively provide multi-cultural, multi-lingual diversity in its services. CARC serves as an advocate for individuals and families whose needs may otherwise go unmet due to language barriers, discrimination and lack of cultural competency. All activities and programs are designed and developed to ensure sensitivity to the values and cultures of the community and the families being served. Our staff is involved in a variety of human service programs. Aside from delivering positive and progressive services to the residents of Monmouth County, CARC collaborates with other area agencies to assure client?s needs are met.
