Opportunities From: United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties

Here’s how it works:

* Volunteers will receive flyers & collection bags to help support the event.
* Next, the flyers can be stapled onto the bags. All bags are distributed by volunteers around their local communities/neighborhoods.
* On a designated day & time, neighbors are encouraged to leave out food donations on their 'front porches.’ Volunteers will walk around the participating neighborhood(s) and collect the bags filled with donations that were left out.
* All bags collected can be then transported to the previously chosen food bank. Based on your location, amount of food collected and transportation volunteers' availability, Move For Hunger can assist with transportation of all the food to the food bank.
* Move For Hunger will provide the volunteers with the Hunger Fighting Hero Award Certificate, stating the impact and the number of pounds collected, as well as meals provided.

Move For Hunger is looking for a few individuals near our home office to help us put together Welcome Kits for our growing network of apartment communities.

What’s A "Welcome Kit"?

A Welcome Kit provides apartments new to our network: a brief introduction to the program and the donation bags they will use to collect items from residents.

Once 3-5 bags are collected from the property, transport is provided to a local food bank from one of our dedicated moving company volunteers.
