Volunteer: Create Blessing Bags for Code Blue Warming Centers

Volunteers needed to collect for and create Blessing Bags for community members seeking shelter from the cold weather.

Code Blue Alerts are issued when:

• Temperatures will reach 25 degrees Fahrenheit or lower without precipitation;
• Temperatures will reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower with precipitation;

As our neighbors seek warmth from the frigid weather we would like to provide them with a Blessing Bag to help them through the day or night.   The following list includes a few suggested comfort items needed for an easier stay away from home or out of the cold weather:

These items can be donated separately or you can create your Blessing Bags with a group of colleagues, family members, congregation or friends. One gallon Ziploc bags are perfect for most items.
