Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County

Literacy skills change lives! Literacy Volunteers Monmouth County, an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy and Literacy New Jersey, believes that the ability to read and write is critical to personal freedom and the maintenance of a democratic society. The mission of LVMC therefore, is to promote increased literacy for adults in Monmouth County, through the effective use of volunteers and collaboration with individuals, groups and organizations desiring to foster increased literacy.

To promote increased English literacy skills for adults in Monmouth County by using trained volunteer tutors to provide one-to-one or small group tutoring to functionally illiterate adults and those for whom English is not their native language.
