Who We Are

Enable, Inc. is a non-profit agency devoted to supporting nearly 450 children and adults with disabilities, including vulnerable seniors, to live full and independent lives in our local communities. Enable promotes individual choice that reflects what is meaningful to each person served and his or her family. It provides services, supports, programs, and living arrangements that facilitate full inclusion into community life. These include group homes, in-home services, and services that provide relief for caregivers.

What We Do

Enable?s services and supports assist persons (and their families) with many different types of cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Our community based programs promote inclusion, independence, safety and an improved quality of life for individuals with disabilities in our communities. Specifically, they include 11 group homes, two day programs, in-home services, respite for caregivers, minor modifications to homes to make them more accessible, and various services for elderly persons including case management and nurse home visits. Although funding is primarily through the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities, Enable also relies on donations from individuals, groups and businesses, grants from other government entities and foundations, and support through the United Way particularly to address quality of life issues. For example, these additional funds support over 400 volunteers each year who become involved in projects ranging from ?friendly visits? to painting bedrooms in group homes and providing help with yard work to helping with one-on-one support to participants at the Day Program.
