Who We Are
iCan Bike Lincroft is a 5-day bike camp designed to teach individuals with disabilities to ride a conventional two-wheeled bicycle independently and to become lifelong riders.
What We Do
Using adapted equipment, trained professionals, and dedicated volunteers, camp participants receive 75 minutes of instruction over 5 days. Our camp boasts an 80% success rate. Riders benefit from increased self-esteem, opportunities for inclusion with family and peers, and for some, a form of independent transportation. A fully enrolled camp of 40 riders requires 2 volunteers per rider. Each rider attends the same 75-minute session for each of the 5 days, and is assigned at least two volunteers that will work as that rider's team throughout the week. We do ask that volunteers pick one or two sessions and commit to being there each day at that time. Consistency is very important for our kids, and it helps them tremendously when they see the same faces each day. It's also very rewarding for the volunteers to follow one child through to the end and see them take off on their own!
